The Greys Anatomy episode where a lady needs surgery but her father wouldn’t allow it. He was going to take his daughter home and if he did she could be paralyzed over the next couple of days. Derek and Meredith do not agree, and want to call child services. Meredith talks to the daughter about why she is not allowed to have the surgery. She explained that in her religion there are a lot of rules and she obeys them. Her father believes that she is missing one of her souls, if her soul is not found before she has surgery that she would die. Derek and Meredith understood and respected their religion. Derek used the hospitals helicopter to fly the shaman into the hospital. The daughter had her healing ceremony before the surgery. She got her surgery in time before she became paralyzed and her religion was respected. Her parents were very pleased that their daughter would be fine and their religion was respected.

The Notebook
I love The Notebook. The story starts with an elderly man reading a story to his wife who has alzheimers. His name is Noah. Noah met his wife at a county fair and fell madly in love with her. They were head over heels in love for the summer, until the summer ended and Allie had to move back home. She was from a very wealthy family and her parents despised of Noah. Noah was from a poor family and in Allie’s parents eyes, Noah could never make their daughter happy or support her financially. The separated and didn’t see each other for a long time. Until, one day when Noah finished making his house and putting the exterior décor on the outside like Allie wanted. Allie seen the house in the paper and had to go see Noah. She was engaged to be married then, but Noah made her fall in love all over again. They lived on to have a couple of kids and he loved her till the day she died. He always went to the nursing home where Allie was placed and read her stories of their life together.
Slumdog Millionaire
The setting of this film starts as a game show; ”Who wants to me a millionaire.” A little boy named Jamal and his older brother were stranded after their mother passed away. Jamal seen a strange girl in the rain and decided to let her join them under the shelter. They awoke to a really nice man that gave them a coca- cola and took them away to a camp with a whole bunch of kids. They loved the place and thought the man was really nice. They come to find that the man takes the eyeballs out of the boys and the girls he uses for prostitution. Jamal and his brother got away from the bad man, but left the girl (lakita) behind. Ever since Jamal had left the camp, he felt bad and wanted to rescue Lakita. Jamal was a contestant on the game show; the host of the show thought Jamal was cheating since he had nothing more than a couple grades of education. He answered all the questions by his life experiences. Jamal wins the game, gets the girl he is love with; he can finally live a life without worry if he’s going to eat the next day.
